Gianni "Aki Dev" Vallerini

Hi, I'm a Game Programmer
I'm 29 from Florence, Italy
Programming videogames was once a dream for me, now it's my daily life!
AI, machine learning, shaders, code architecture and animations are my favourite fields and they're where I excel more proficiently.I love music, playing bass, gaming and making cocktails,
I never lost the touch! I was once a barman afterall.
Work
Working in a professional environment taught me that teamwork and staying updated on new technologies are the most important things in game development.

Lonesome Guild - Tiny Bull Studios
Lonesome Guild - Tiny Bull Studios - 2.5 years
As generalist programmer I've worked with Unity ECS, where I learned how to develop data driven gameplay. I've covered a big part of the tools used by developers and I've helped with the UI and AI development.
These are the projects I've worked on
Chef Adventure
Chef Adventure - WHITESOCK - 6 months
As programmer I implemented pretty much every part of the gameplay focussing on character movement and interactions, deep dialogue system linked with Articy external program, world generation tools, UI and optimization.
Simbioasi
Simbioasi - WHITESOCK - 6 months
In this project there was a couple of very challenging features, such as character movement linked with animations, save system and the management of many active physic objects.
Oxistress
Oxistress - WHITESOCK - 6 months
In this project I was finally able to work in a VR environment. The most challenging aspect of this game was the optimization of 3d assets, using shaders, object pooling and ambient occlusion.
Suburra: The game
Suburra - MONOGRID - 1 year
This was my first BIG project, I learned to work in a team.
I worked on animations, black market system, inventory system and some core interactions like covers and shooting.
I've also worked on AR features.
Follow the Truth
Follow the Truth - Game Jam "The game is a liar" - 7 Days
We, as a team of 7 people, were really happy with the final product. Working on the project I had to figure out how to create a 2.5D environment like Don't Starve on Unity, that was very challenging.
Garlic Blood
Garlic Blood - Game Jam "Vampires and the blood is Lethal" - 3 Days
Me as developer, a musician and an artist.
Setting up all the systems in this game is such a short period of time was very challenging, but successful
Quantum Caster
Quantum Caster - Game Jam "A lot of" - 5 Days
I worked on this game with 6 artists as the only programmer. We came up with the idea and I ended up working mostly as a Tech Artist for this project. It was very fun!
